I'm setting up a kind of legacy/retro system around an early Mac Pro and lots of desktop and rack synths. I've retrieved the Emagic Sound Diver (last Public Beta) from an old setup I had saved to hard disc back in the day and loaded it.
It fires up happily with my Xkey but its library is short of many of the synth profiles I expected. Nothing of my Kawais for example. Does anyone have the standard profiles that shipped with it that I could get a copy of. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Glenn Poster Posts: 45 Joined: Tue Mar 25, 2008 1:00 am Location: Aotearoa/UK/Australia. So I reloaded Sounddiver from OS9Lives and realised that there was a basic issue - me!
Just hadn't remembered how things fundamentally worked; Librarian comes up first - then, click on a programme entry to have the synthesis screen come up! My excuse is that back in the day I never really got into using Sounddiver in depth - just poked squidgy buttons and dialed up parameters on the hardware, editing via the proverbial letterbox. But now after 15 years of being spoilt by computer graphical interfaces I kinda crave visual support so will need to bite the bullet and learn the programme a bit more thoroughly.

(Plus there is the issue of fading backlights! ) Thanks again Desmond.
It's great to have a backup link to the programme as my attempts at Google searching obviously lacked the right criteria. Cheers, Glenn Poster Posts: 45 Joined: Tue Mar 25, 2008 1:00 am Location: Aotearoa/UK/Australia.
You're welcome - if you get problems, you can always post here. I loved SD, and still use it from time to time, but the OSX beta was buggy in many ways. I even programmed adaptions back in the day (I made a CZ-101 adaption.before. the Universal module actually supported the non-standard sysex data the CZ uses, as well as adaptions for other stuff.) And in some ways, for some devices, storing and organising patches in SD was still better and faster than 'modern' systems, plugins, and DAW patch handling. BTW SD never Linked with Logic on OSX, because the little system hack they used to link the two (called 'Autolink') wasn't available in OSX, though you could still copy/paste names in Logic. It only worked in OS9 and Windows. There is still MIDIQuest, but I've found that really buggy and weird to use as well.
